‘The Inn Way…to the Yorkshire Dales’ by Mark Reid, published by InnWay Publications (ISBN 978-1-902001-16-6, paperback, 186pp, RRP £9:95). This guidebook was published in 1997 and was the first in ‘The Inn Way’ series. It is currently into its 4th Edition (September 2008).
Where does the route go?
The Inn Way
to the Yorkshire Dales starts and finishes at Grassington, a small Dales town in Upper Wharfedale. The walk then takes in Wharfedale, Littondale, Langstrothdale, Raydale, Wensleydale, Swaledale, Apedale, Bishopdale, Walden and Coverdale. The most southerly point is Thorpe (near Grassington), westerly point is Litton (in Littondale), northerly point is Reeth (in Swaledale) and easterly point is Horsehouse (in Coverdale).

The Inn Way
to the Yorkshire Dales is a long distance circular walk, divided into six day stages ranging from 11 to 14 miles.

Grassington (start/finish), Buckden, Askrigg, Reeth, West Burton and Kettlewell.
How many pubs will I pass (or go into!) along the way?
There are 26 pubs along The Inn Way. Each day stage is designed to include a pub at lunchtime and the Overnight Stops offer a choice of pubs and facilities. There is a wooden hand-painted Inn Way Pub Sign outside each of the 26 inns along the route.
