Hi
Myself and 3 other very mature (in age) gents (or males) are planning to walk the Inn Way at the end of the month. All accommodation is sorted apart from at/near ASKRIGG....we were hoping to camo at Aysgarth Falls Hotel but because its a bank holiday weekend they will only take bookings for a minimum of 3 days...and of course we only want 1 night there.

Do any of you good people have any likely places to try for camping...we are not adverse to wild camping.

Cheers
Rocky

Hi Rocky

The nearest campsite to Askrigg is at Bainbridge Ings near Hawes. You could divert from the route at Bainbridge and walk up the Roman Road then drop down to the campsite, which is on the back road out of Gayle. This would, however, add some mileage to your route. Wild Camping is not really tolerated in the Yorkshire Dales. Perhaps give the pubs at Askrigg a ring, as they may let you pitch up in their beer gardens for a night, or know a friendly farmer who'll let you camp in a field. Good luck!
