In a group of 4 we just completed this excellent walk. Some poor planning on our part meant that quite a few pubs we passed weren't open, but we managed at least a pint in 17 pubs in total. We did the Northumberland Inn Way last year and the Dales Inn Way the year before where we had at least a pint in around 26 pubs, so the North York Moors was the hardest to find pubs that were open through the day.

We modified the route slightly for our personal preference. One thing we were unsure was why the Station Tavern at Grosmont wasn't included on the route? We added this in as it was only a mile of easy walking extra.

We also stayed overnight in Church Houses instead of Rosedale Abbey, so we cut out Rosedale Abbey and added in The Lion, Blakey en route to Church Houses.

Our favourite all round pub was the Postgate at Egton Bridge. We stayed overnight there, the food was the best on the whole walk and the choice of ales was very good.
