Four of us did the NY Moors Inn Way from 11 Sep 2011. We had done the Dales and Peak District in the previous 2 years and, as we are getting on a bit, we found carrying full rucksacks a bit of a struggle. So we used a taxi service this time and it was excellent. We used a guy from Pickering - Anthony Ring from Ring a Taxi, phone number 07711756512, email: theringfamily@btinternet.com. It was cheaper than the dedicated baggage transfer services and very reliable. And here is a tip for parking. Helmsley to Hawnby is only a short drive, so on the first day we dropped our rucksacks off in Helmsley and drove to Hawnby. You can park in the Village Hall car park. It is free but there is a donation box. We walked from Hawnby to Helmsley so doing Day 6 first. After that, we then used the taxi service and had our luggage dropped off back at Helmsley on the last day by prior arrangement with the pub we were staying at. It saves a bob or two as you don't have to pay for baggage transfer for the first day.
