Good to awful weather. When paths are running streams we resorted to road walking. Fields of cows had churned up gate entrances into quagmires. Using the OS map alongside the book is a must if you need alternative routes. However... excellent walks; pretty villages and enjoyable pubs. I now feel I have a much better knowledge of that area of the North Yorks Moors having immersed myself in it for six days (I don't just mean the mud.) Best memory: Sheltered from the rain in Beck Hall Inn and enjoyed the chat and beer as we steamed.

Hi MashPotato

Glad you liked the walk, despite the rain! Yes, the Birch Hall Inn is a great place to spend an hour or two sheltering from the elements.

Cheers, Mark.
