There's a lot of choice, but ten pubs stand out. My favourite along The Inn Way are:

1. Golden Rule, Ambleside
2. Langstrath, Stonethwaite
3. Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater
4. Wasdale Head Inn
5. Brook House Inn, Boot
6. Newfield Inn, Seathwaite
7. Blacksmiths Arms, Broughton Mills
8. Manor Arms, Broughton in Furness
9. Old Dungeon Ghyll, Great Langdale
10. Britannia Inn, Elterwater

The Sportsman Inn at Ambleside has been refurbished and is now known as the Ambleside Tavern. I didn't go in... just walked past but I think the old downstairs "disco bar" is a thing of the past.

If ever a pub has deteriorated recently then it has to be the ODG.....we all know that it has a special charm but now it looks extremely tatty and it really does need to be smartened up.
I visited this week and didn't hang around for long, very disappointing after being a visitor here for well over 30 years.
